Earlier this year, the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection fired the 19 members of the Community Banker Advisory Board created during the Richard Cordray era as required by Dodd-Frank. Commercial banks and savings institutions insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation reported aggregate net income of $60.2 billion in the second quarter of 2018, up $12.1 billion (25.1 percent) from a year ago.
