The CARES Act, new SBA Programs, and Other Issues

We certainly are in a new an unusual age in banking, and in compliance in particular. The entire model of consumer and commercial banking is changing before our eyes, and many emergency measures have been taken by Congress and the regulatory agencies (including SBA) in response. What does this mean to your bank? How will you adapt your efforts to best serve your small business customers and remain in compliance with the many standards?

In this webinar we’ll go into detail around the new CARES Act and what it means to small business lending. This means we’ll dive headfirst into the Keeping American Workers Paid and Employed Act (Title I) and what the Paycheck Protection Act is all about. We’ll discuss the new SBA programs, including qualifications and terms. The Treasury Department is just now providing guidance around these programs; there’s a lot to digest. We’ll also discuss the Coronavirus Economic Stabilization Act of 2020 (Title IV), which deals with loans to certain nonprofits and mid-size businesses.

We’ll also provide some timely reminders of various compliance requirements on small business lending, to ensure your programs remain best-in-class so that you can be prepared to handle the next set of challenges thrown your way.
